The candy is Snickers, sold by the Mars Chocolate North America division of Mars. For the last three
years, Snickers has been the subject of a well-regarded campaign that carries
the theme “You’re not you when you’re hungry,” which supplements the brand’s
longtime slogan, “Snickers satisfies.”
This
is one type of product advertisement which used print advertisement to
communicate its message to the target audience. It consists of a tagline below
the brand picture. SNICKERS which says “You’re not you when you’re hungry”. It
clearly that the purpose of this advertisement is to inform its target market
that this product has a power to feel you full when you are hungry.
What I’ve noticed when I see this advertisement, it is
simply the snickers it self that caught my attention because I love chocolates.
Next thing is that when I’ve seen the detailed tagline the message of it, is
that simply when you are hungry grab and eat snickers because when you are
hungry you are not in your own self, you are not you. Even though it is sweet many people buy this
product. This is a healthy chocolate that can also eat by the people who are
doing their diets. Because what I observe in this advertisement is that they
are trying to advertise healthier product like this, when you eat this you are
healthy because our body need some sugars. In terms of this advertisement’s
attractiveness the usage of color was very smart that catches attention of the
viewer’s eye even though in a quick saw. Other than, the picture itself, the
tagline turns attractive also to me.
The target audience of this advertisement was all
individuals who are health conscious and those who are wanted to keep their
body fit. It also shows neither positive nor negative effect because the
purpose of this is to inform everyone that this product can be an alternative
to be full.
